CAR and van owners are being urged not to leave their keys in their vehicles after a van was stolen in Haddington town centre.

The van was stolen from Market Street when it was left unattended with the keys in it.

Constable Charlie Duncan, Haddington and Lammermuir ward officer, said: “This opportunity is taken to remind everyone that their vehicles should be properly secured irrespective of how short a period of time it is left unattended for.”

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident, which took place on April 29.
