ONE of the most influential dance music acts of all time are taking over the Simpson & Marwick Spiegeltent on opening night of Fringe by the Sea.
Inner City join the line-up at the harbourside in North Berwick on Friday, August 2 as part of their 30-year commemorative tour.
Founded in 1987 by Detroit techno pioneer Kevin Saunderson, Inner City were one of the first bands to take dance music to the mainstream charts.
Classics such as Good Life and Big Fun would go on to influence British bands like Soul II Soul, Massive Attack and many more. Originally with Paris Grey on vocals,
Inner City is now reinvented 30 years later with Kevin joined by his youngest son Dantiez and vocalist Steffanie Christi’an.
The performance is at 9.30pm. Tickets, £25, available via www.fringebythesea.com
Other top names confirmed for the August 2-11 North Berwick festival include musician Eddi Reader, authors Ian Rankin and Peter Irvine, R'n'B star Alexander O’Neal, comedians Fred MacAuley and Reginald D Hunter, and rockers Idlewild.
