MEMBERS of the public have named a Dunbar hotel one of the top 100 restaurants in Scotland.

The Royal Mackintosh Hotel is flying the flag for East Lothian as the only restaurant in the county named in the 2019 Restaurant Awards – Scottish edition.

The new awards, which were held in Glasgow, aim to showcase the best restaurants in the country, as voted for by the public who think that their favourite restaurant should be included because of the valuable work and service they offer to their customers.

Hannah Renton, who has owned the business, off Dunbar’s Station Road, for more than eight years, was delighted with the recognition.

She said: “We are pretty chuffed and quite surprised.

“We entered the awards on the off chance and put it out on Facebook for our customers to vote for us.

“We got an email to say we were invited to the awards ceremony.

“Two of the girls here went through and we were voted in the top 100, which we are really chuffed about.”
