Many excited locals headed along to see the magnificent train, snapping pictures and video’s as it sped past, including a woman from Dunbar, whose video (see top of page) garnered much attention online after it didn’t quite go the way she planned!

A Twitter post by @katherinerudden has garnered more than 2,800 likes 23,000 views already.

The Flying Scotsman will remain in Scotland until the end of the month, taking passengers around the Highlands, then down for tours of the Forth Circle from Linlithgow, Dalmeny and Inverkeithing.

The famous train attracts plenty of attention, and though people are naturally keen to get the best view, they are encouraged to refer to Network Rail guidelines first. See networkrail.co.uk/communities/railway-enthusiasts/railway-enthusiasts-and-photography-at-stations
