A WHITECRAIG pensioner has been banned from driving for six years after he was twice caught in control of a car while over the limit in the space of just five days.
Gabriel Vincent, of Whitecraig Gardens East, has also been ordered to forfeit his vehicle following an appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week.
Vincent, 69, was first caught in charge of a vehicle with 101mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath at his home address on March 29.
The second incident took place at the same location just days later on April 2 where he was found to have driven the vehicle with 68mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
The legal limit is 22mcg.
The county pensioner appeared at the city court last Thursday where he was sentenced to the six-year driving ban.
Sheriff Fiona Tait also told the pensioner he would have to forfeit the vehicle.
