NEAL Black works as a learner engagement officer for Edinburgh College, is vice-chair of his local community council, and a representative on the local area partnership.

He said: “I am proud to live in the ward with my family. I am involved in my community in this way because I care passionately about helping to get the best for local people.

"We have great schools and other excellent public services which I will defend from sustained Scottish Government cuts.

"I want to ensure we keep supporting local communities by constantly improving all our vital local services.

"I am also committed to working with local communities and my Labour colleagues on the council to make our area an even better place to live. This includes promoting physical and mental wellbeing by supporting local sports clubs and being a champion for training and job opportunities for young people.

"I can think of no greater honour than having the opportunity to serve the community where I was born and have lived my whole life.

"If you put your faith in me on May 9, I promise to be a strong local representative who will always act in the interests of the Haddington and Lammermuir ward.”
