AN ABERLADY pub has deleted its Facebook page after being bombarded with negative reviews and comments from Rangers fans.
The Old Aberlady Inn had posted on the social media site ahead of Rangers' match against Motherwell yesterday (Sunday) that they were showing “Motherwell v Them” (see below).
However, that sparked fury from fans of the Ibrox side, with dozens of one-star reviews posted on TripAdvisor and Google, as well as negative comments left on the pub's Facebook page.
Among the comments left were: “Absolutely disgusting place to stay, my room was filthy and smelled terrible” and “Food was terrible and full of drunks”, while another claimed that "Gers fans weren't welcome".
Now, the hotel’s Facebook page has been deleted.
Craig Douglas, proprietor of the business, apologised for the post and told the Courier: "Nothing derogatory was meant.
"It was a bit of banter between myself and regulars that has backfired and gone viral.
"The abuse to staff and threats to staff have been horrendous."
