FAMOUS Michelin-starred chef Tom Kitchin has visited the Brand family at East Fortune Farm for the filming of an American travel television programme.

VisitScotland teamed up with US network NBC for an episode of 1st Look, where host Johnny ‘Bananas’ Devenanzio travels to popular destinations in search of the best food and entertainment the area has to offer.

Filming began at chef Tom’s new pub The Bonnie Badger in Gullane, which opened in December.

The production team travelled to East Fortune Farm after it was decided that a first-hand look into who supplies some of the meat for the pub was required for the episode.

Jane Brand, 41, mum and the farm administrator, said: “We had a brilliant morning on the farm showing the team all the different breeds of lamb.

“Tom’s passion for his food is incredible, he takes the whole carcass and makes a dish out of everything; he is brilliant at what he does. We have supplied lambs to Tom before and have started supplying to The Bonnie Badger – our first order was last week.”

The Brand family relocated in 1931 to East Fortune Farm, where three generations currently reside.

The farm has won multiple awards over the years, as well as opening a successful farm shop last July.

Neil Christison, regional director of VisitScotland, said: “We’re delighted to be working once again with NBC to show what makes Scotland a dynamic and unique destination, from our history and heritage to our food and drink.

“As part of the trip, we welcomed 1st Look host Johnny Bananas to East Lothian, where he chatted about Scottish produce with Michelin-starred chef Tom Kitchin and the Brand family of East Fortune Farm.”

The episode will be aired on NBC in March.
