ABOUT 40 firefighters have been called out to a large fire at a landfill site near Dunbar.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service received a call at about 2.35am this morning (Tuesday) to head to the site near Oxwellmains, south-east of Dunbar.
Crews from East Linton and North Berwick are still in attendance, along with colleagues from Edinburgh.
A large plume of smoke was visible from the site.
A spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "Around 40 firefighters are currently at work tackling a large fire involving domestic waste at a landfill site in Dunbar.
"Operations Control mobilised a number of resources to the scene after the alarm was raised at 2.36am."
