EAST Lothian Council has announced changes to residential waste collections over the festive period.
Collections due on Tuesday (Christmas Day) will instead take place on Saturday (December 22), with collections scheduled for New Year’s Day now arranged for December 29.
Similarly, bins due to be emptied on Boxing Day will instead be collected on Sunday (December 23), with January 2 collections held on December 30.
There will be no garden waste collections between Saturday and January 6, while real Christmas trees can be composted by taking them to a recycling centre or leaving them beside a brown bin on garden waste collection dates.
Recycling centres are not open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and January 2 and will close at the earlier time of 2pm on Christmas Eve and Hogmanay.
