A PRISONER was in possession of Class A drugs while inside HMP Edinburgh.

Christopher Law, from Musselburgh, admitted possessing a quantity of cocaine while serving a custodial sentence.

Law, 28, also had a mobile phone on him when he was searched by prison officials and he also admitted that offence when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Monday.

Sheriff John Cook sentenced Law, of HMP Edinburgh, to 108 days’ imprisonment, to run concurrently to his existing sentence.

Co-accused Alana Brown, 23, had her not guilty pleas to two charges accepted by the Crown.

Brown, of North High Street, Musselburgh, was cleared of two charges of supplying cocaine at HMP Edinburgh and introducing the drug to the prison on July 18.

Law admitted possessing cocaine and a mobile phone on July 18.
