A DUNFERMLINE man headbutted his partner resulting in her losing three teeth.

After being released following the assault, Barry Shepherd breached bail conditions by going to the woman’s home and causing a disturbance there.

Shepherd, 43, currently a prisoner at Perth, was brought to the dock in Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on August 6, at an address in Dunfermline, he assaulted his partner by headbutting her on the head to her severe injury.

He also admitted that on September 13, at a different Dunfermline address, he breached bail conditions not to enter the street or contact his partner.

On the same day, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, repeatedly attempting to gain access to the property and kicking a patio door repeatedly.

He also assaulted his partner at an address in Dunfermline by attempting to strike her on the head repeatedly and attempting to seize her by the body.

Depute fiscal Sarah Lumsden said there had been an argument between Shepherd and his partner which started up again the next morning at 8.15am.

The woman had gone to wake him up for his work. The row escalated and Shepherd headbutted his partner on the mouth.

Children were in the house at the time and ran off to tell neighbours, who contacted the police.

The victim sustained three broken teeth. However, Shepherd was granted bail when he appeared in court and soon breached the conditions.

He went to the woman’s home and was seen shouting and kicking at the patio doors.

Sheriff Charles MacNair called for reports and refused bail. Shepherd will be sentenced on January 15.
