Police said the road is closed from The Brig, Tranent
ONE of the main routes through Tranent is closed after an elderly woman was struck by a car.
Police Scotland said the Edinburgh Road was closed from The Brig shortly after 1pm after the 80-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car as she crossed near Polson Park.
It remains closed as officers carry out their investigation into the incident.
The woman was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by ambulance. Her condition is unknown.
