A MUSSELBURGH man found with three blades after becoming involved in an incident outside an Edinburgh pub has been sent to jail for 12 months.
Gavin Inkster behaved in a threatening or abusive manner and threatened to stab a man near to CC Blooms in the city centre earlier this year.
Police were called out to deal with Inkster by concerned door staff and when officers arrived they searched him and discovered he had two knives and a sharp, bladed implement on him.
The 28-year-old had pleaded guilty to the offences when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month and he returned to the dock for sentencing last Tuesday.
Sheriff Michael O’Grady QC noted Inkster’s extensive criminal record and said he had no choice but to issue a jail term.
Inkster, of Delta Road, was jailed for 12 months after admitting behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and threatening to stab a man on January 27, as well as possessing the blades.
