A NOODLE bar in a bus could soon be serving customers at an historic marketplace.
Plans to site the double decker bus, which has been converted into a restaurant, at East Linton Mart have been lodged with East Lothian Council.
The project would see Dunbar-based company Wok N Go Noodle Bar park its yellow bus in a car park on the site.
The historic auction mart was traditionally a bustling agricultural centre for East Linton and has seen a resurgence in recent times as work has been carried out to re-establish it is a community focal point.
It is home to The Mart Farm Shop and Cafe and Viarama, Scotland’s first virtual reality company and social enterprise, with plans to create further attractions as it is developed.
Regular farmers’ markets are held at the site off Station Road, as well as car boot sales, coffee mornings and classes.
Photographs submitted to planners reveal the downstairs of the bus would be used as the kitchen, with customers served food on the upper deck, where the original bus seats have been retained with tables between them.
