A WHITE Audi was stolen from the Windygoul area of Tranent in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The car, a Q3 S-Line TDI with registration plate GY66 XLO, was taken from a home on Toll House Neuk at 3.03am on Sunday.

Shelley O'Donnell and Ross Watters were asleep upstairs when the thieves broke in and stole Shelley's car.

Mr Watters told the Courier: "It was while we were asleep that they gained entry through the side door. They used a tool to get through the lock and then they were just in and out.

"Nothing else was taken. They must have seen the keys and thought: 'That's all we need.'

"The tool must be quiet because we were asleep upstairs none the wiser."

Police are currently combing CCTV of the local area, while the couple appealed on Facebook for any sightings of the car.

"We know that they arrived in another car," Mr Watters said.

"There was more than one of them. We know that because we have CCTV in our front room and we can see a car slowing down outside our house.

"Our neighbours saw a car on their CCTV arriving at the same time."
