A MUSSELBURGH man who used abusive language towards staff at Tranent Library has been placed on a restriction of liberty order.
Daniel Wells had been handed an anti-social behaviour order (ASBO) in June last year banning him from using threatening or intimidating language towards staff at the library at the town’s Winton Place.
But the 31-year-old proceeded to breach the order by attending at the library and using abusive language towards staff members a month later on July 6 last year.
Wells also behaved in a threatening and aggressive manner towards his partner by shouting at her and preventing her from leaving her home on July 6 this year.
Wells was placed on a 12-month restriction of liberty order during last Wednesday’s court appearance, meaning he will have to stay within his home at Monktonhall Terrace between 9pm and 7am each day.
Sheriff Peter McCormack also sentenced Wells to a non-harassment order banning him from contacting the woman for the next 12 months after he had previously pleaded guilty to the two offences at the Capital’s sheriff court.
