THE dog at the centre of an incident which left a man with "significant injury to his groin" has been put down.
The 22-year-old man was taken to hospital in Edinburgh following the attack on Sunday, October 7.
The Courier understands that the man, who remains in a serious condition, had his genitals bitten off by a bulldog at a flat in the centre of Haddington.

The dog was subsequently seized by police.
Today (Wednesday), a spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Inquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of how a 22-year-old man sustained significant injury to his groin area while within an address in Haddington on Sunday, October 7.
"However, as part of this investigation, the owner of the dog which is believed to have been involved has voluntarily signed documentation consenting to the destruction of the animal."
Police have now released an additional statement, which adds: "This has now taken place after protracted dialogue between the Crown Office, Scottish SPCA and the East Lothian Council Dog Warden."
