THE Battle of Prestonpans re-enactment took place over the weekend, with the festival seeing a record turnout of visitors.
Part of East Lothian Battle Weekend, the event recounts the famous 15-minute battle in 1745 that saw Bonnie Prince Charlie claim his first and finest victory over Sir John Cope's British Army.
On Saturday morning, a parade marched through the town towards Greenhills – the site of the battle – which also played host to a variety of activities and stalls, as well as the actual encampments of the two armies.
Visitors got the opportunity to walk the tent-lines and meet the soldiers, as well as 'Bonnie Prince Charlie' himself.
There is still a chance to see the One-to-One: Paper Soldiers Exhibition, in the Thomas Nelson Suite of the Prestoungrange Gothenburg, as well as The Prestonpans Tapestry, which is on display at Cockenzie House, until Sunday.
