AN ORMISTON driver has been banned from the road after admitting a dangerous driving charge.
Connor Robertson drove a vehicle at excessive speed on the opposite carriageway at Wakefield Avenue and Nantwich Drive in Edinburgh’s Craigentinny area.
Robertson, 22, also mounted a footpath and collided with a fence during the incident in August last year.
It was also found that Robertson, of Park Road, had been driving the vehicle with no insurance.
An allegation of failing to stop for police officers when required to do so was dropped from the list of charges.
Sheriff Adrian Cottam banned Robertson from driving for 12 months and ordered him to complete the extended driving test before he is allowed back behind the wheel.
He was admonished on the lack of insurance charge.
Robertson pleaded guilty to an amended charge of driving a vehicle dangerously by driving at excessive speeds, crossing onto the opposite carriageway, leaving the road, mounting a footpath and colliding with a fence on August 12 last year.
He also admitted having no insurance during the same incident.
