TWO men have been charged in connection with an alleged assault at Monktonhall Newsagents in Musselburgh on Friday evening.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We were called at 8.15pm on Friday evening to reports of a disturbance at the shop.
"A man suffered serious head injuries in the incident but has since been released from hospital."
Two men, aged 23 and 28, were due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Monday) in relation to the alleged incident.
