PLANS to turn an Indian restaurant on Tranent High Street into housing have been revealed.
Altaf Khan, which is named after its owner, has been operating in the town for nearly 20 years.
Mr Khan, who opened it originally as Kashmir Valley in 1999, said he was looking for new premises.
He told the Courier: “The application is not for financial gain, it is because I want to move.
"I am looking for new premises in Tranent, I have been here a long time and love it.
"I see children who came when they were young bringing their children here and it is nice to see generations growing up, so my intention is to stay in Tranent.”
Plans lodged with East Lothian Council show that both houses would be two-storeys and have four bedrooms.
