THE East Lothian Courier was named Weekly Newspaper of the Year 2017 at last night's Scottish Press Awards.
Editor Robbie Scott collected the award at a ceremony in Glasgow hosted by the Scottish Newspaper Society.
He said: "I am absolutely delighted for our staff who give their all each week to produce the best paper we can for the county."
East Lothian MSP Iain Gray has today put forward a Scottish Parliament motion, congratulating the Courier and highlighting the "vital role" it has played in county life since its inception in 1859.
