I watched Juventus go out of the Champions League the other night and I have to say that I had a lot of sympathy for them.

It was a dodgy penalty in my book. I can see the arguments that were made for it and it was a classic one where the team who gets it would shout for it and the team it was against would be irked but I just don’t think that it would have been given if it had happened at the other end of the pitch.

With virtually the last kick of the ball Ronaldo out Real Madrid through and what I thought was noticeable and it is football all over the world was the celebrations after the game – it just doesn’t matter how you get there, just that you do.

It will be the same on Sunday afternoon at Hampden. It is all about winning, no matter how you do it. It is all that matters when the stakes are high and the pressure is on. No-one remembers if you didn’t play well but scraped the result, just that you made it through.
