THERE was disappointment for swimmer Dan Wallace and para-powerlifter Micky Yule as they missed out on medals at the Commonwealth Games this morning (Tuesday).
Wallace finished sixth in the 200m individual medley (IM), while Wallyford's Yule was fourth in the men's heavyweight para-powerlifting.
The 39-year-old former army staff sergeant (pictured below at the 2016 Paralympics, by Andrew Matthews/PA Wire) lost both legs after stepping on an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan eight years ago.
A massive lift of 201kg saw Yule narrowly miss out, finishing fourth - the same place he finished in Glasgow four years ago.
Nigeria's Abdulazeez Ibrahim took the gold while Yee Khie Jong (Malaysia) took silver.
Wallace, meanwhile, was off the pace as Australian Mitch Larkin stormed to victory in 1:57.67 - a new Games record.
And FOURTH for @MarkSzaranek and SIXTH for @danwallace_ in that race! #TeamScot2018

Wallace's Scotland team-mate Duncan Scott took silver, while Clyde Lewis, also of Australia, pipped Scotland's Mark Szaranek to the bronze medal.
Wallace's time of 1:59.85 was good enough only to see him finish ahead of New Zealand's Lewis Clareburt and Wales' Xavier Castelli.
