CANNABIS plants with a value of around £25,000 have been seized from a house in Musselburgh after police stopped a man in a car.
Officers said they discovered the cannabis cultivation in a property on Stoneyhill Place on Friday following a search of a vehicle on the same street.
They said a 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear in court in Edinburgh next month.
Detective Sergeant Jordan Sharp of the Community Investigation Unit said: "This was a significant quantity of drugs removed from the market as a result of the initial stop and search and the work of the officers in attendance.
"Drugs and their associated criminality can blight communities and I would urge anyone with information that can help us tackle this to please report it to police on 101 or through Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
