A KIND-HEARTED North Berwick youngster will lead out his beloved Manchester City as they look to clinch the Premier League title tomorrow (Saturday).

Charlie Kay, who suffers from cerebral palsy, has been walked 178 miles over the last three months – the distance between his home in North Berwick and his team's Etihad Stadium.

The 10-year-old has just one mile still to do, and he will complete that as he walks out with Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany ahead of the city derby against Manchester United.

His parents Melanie and Martin had originally bout the inspirational youngster a ticket to watch the match before the Premier League club stepped in.

They contacted the Kay family this week to invite the Law Primary School pupil to be their mascot.

If Charlie's team overcome their city rivals, they will be crowned champions of England.

And on hearing the news he will lead out the side, Charlie said: "That's amazing – I did not expect that.

"I do not have any words.

"It makes me feel very special."

His mum Melanie told the Courier: "It is going to be a fantastic day."

Shortly before 5.30pm tomorrow, the eyes of thousands inside the Etihad Stadium and millions of fans watching on television from all over the world will be on the tunnel, and they will see the home side led out by inspirational Charlie.
