Inspector Andrew Harborow of Tranent Police Station said the teenager was arrested in connection with a breach of the peace and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

He said: “We recognise the right to peaceful protest and are willing to work with members of the public to facilitate lawful and peaceful protests.

“Our primary responsibility is to keep people safe and prevent them putting themselves or others in dangers.

“We urge organisers of any further events to engage and plan such activity in partnership with us, so that we can ensure the safety of all those attending."
