STRONG winds and heavy snow have resulted in some spectacular drifts across East Lothian, with some several feet deep.

Jill Gillespie took this incredible picture of a snow-submerged car on the A198 between Auldhame and Whitekirk.

Meanwhile, employees at Luffness Mains, near Aberlady, have been working hard to help clear the roads in and around Gullane.

Alison Richardson, of Luffness Mains, said: "I cannot stress enough, the guys have been brilliant.

"The three of them - Geert Knottenbelt, Graham Knottenbelt and Jim Muir - have been working tirelessly.

"Where snow ploughs and gritters have not been able to get through, they have just gone ahead and done it.

"Graham even dug out the car park at Gullane Medical Practice; they have just been great."
