A POLICE investigation is under way after an outdoor pizza oven in Lochend Woods was vandalised.
Vandals targeted the oven, which is used by a variety of community groups, including Cubs, Brownies and Guides.
Isobel Knox, secretary of Dunbar Community Woodland Group, said: “It is disappointing because of the work I do at Dunbar Grammar School and bringing the groups out to do their John Muir Award. It is all about getting the kids to be stakeholders looking after the woods.
“So yes, it is disappointing but you have got to think in positive ways; it has been sitting there for five years without any damage.”
The top of the oven appears to have been struck with something heavy, such as an iron bar.
Ms Knox was hopeful that the oven could be repaired, although there was no timeline for when that could take place.
Police Constable Gavin Ross was aware of the incident, which is thought to have taken place over a weekend.
