SNOW and ice could again be on the way for East Lothian residents tomorrow (Friday), forecasters are warning.
The Met Office has issued a yellow 'be aware' warning of snow and ice for the county, as well as much of the rest of Scotland and the north of England, covering the period from midnight tonight until noon tomorrow.
The Met Office says that following a spell of rain and hill snow, temperatures will fall quickly, allowing widespread ice to form on untreated pavements, cycle paths and roads.
Heavy sleet, hail and snow showers could follow.
The Met Office says that there is a chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces, while bus and train services may be delayed or cancelled, with some road closures and longer journey times possible.
The local forecast for East Lothian currently suggests that the snow may well miss the county, although overnight temperatures are likely to fall to freezing, potentially creating a risk of ice.
Residents are urged to take care when travelling.
