A MAN who pled guilty to dangerous driving on the county's busiest road has been disqualified for a year.
David Clark was banned from the roads after he pleaded guilty at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
Several members of the public contacted police with their concerns after witnessing the now 45-year-old, of West Lothian, undertaking and filtering unsafely between the Bankton junction of the A1 and Sheriffhall junction of the City of Edinburgh Bypass, or A720.
He was sentenced to 12 months disqualification, ordered to pay a £450 fine and pass an extended driving test at the conclusion of his ban.
Sergeant Iain Blain, of the Trunk Road's Patrol Group, said: "We take the safety of all road users very seriously and will deploy appropriate resources to respond to the public's concerns about driver behaviour.
"The vast majority of bikers understand the importance of driving responsibility, both for their own safety and that of other road users.
"A conviction for road offences can have a real impact on a person, their family and their daily life and I'd urge all motorists to always be mindful that irresponsible driving behaviour has real consequences."
