A HADDINGTON man has denied stealing wooden doors from a property in the town.

Luke Burgess, of Florabank Road, is alleged to have taken the doors from a property at the town’s Langriggs.

The 22-year-old is also alleged to have missed ‘signing on’ at his local police station after allegedly being ordered to at court.

Burgess was not in attendance when his case called at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday but his lawyer lodged not guilty pleas in his absence.

He is accused of stealing a quantity of wooden doors from a property at Langriggs between August 1 and 31 last year and failing to sign on at Haddington Police Station between 9am and 4pm on August 25 this year after allegedly being ordered to by a sheriff two weeks previously.
