WELL-KNOWN charity fundraiser Scott Glynn is recovering after undergoing a liver transplant.

Mr Glynn, from Tranent, underwent the major surgery earlier this month and is at home, in isolation, recuperating.

The well-known comedian, who has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for good causes through his Walk With Scott Foundation, was diagnosed with liver cancer in March.

He and his wife Carol bravely spoke of their experiences in the weeks and months that followed in moving articles in the Courier as they backed a call for more people to sign up to become organ donors.

And they have continued to support their foundation, set up to carry on the amazing legacy created by Mr Glynn’s epic Walk With Scott fundraisers.

Taking to social media last week, Mr Glynn thanked everyone for their support and asked for patience as he continues his battle.

He said: “Just give me a few weeks to get back on my feet because the next battle is just as brutal as my last one.

“My fight now is infection, as my immune system is at its lowest. I am still fighting, folks, but with a fantastic group of people like yourself, my fight becomes a little easier. Love to you all and see you hopefully for Christmas.”
