PEOPLE are being warned to lock their doors after a 31-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with thefts from homes in Tranent.
The man was arrested by police on Monday and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court this week.
Officers said he was charged in connection with thefts from houses in the town between September 18 and September 25.
They have warned people to make sure doors are locked even when they are at home.
Police Scotland said: "In both incidents no force was used to gain entry and we are reminding members of the public to ensure their property is secured at all times even if they are within their homes.
"If any residents would like crime prevention advice they can contact their local station or call 101 to seek advice."
