A new interactive website allows county residents to know exactly how their street is ranked in terms of deprivation.

The Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD)  has been released, with contrasting results for East Lothian communities.

Gullane and North Berwick fare well from the findings, and are among the least deprived areas, while Tranent and Prestonpans are listed among the most deprived, although no East Lothian towns make it into the top 10 of either list.

Jason Rose, a Scottish Greens activist, tweeted: "My home town, Tranent, still among most deprived areas of Scotland. Action on jobs, skills & health well overdue."

Ferguslie Park in Paisley was identified as the area with the greatest level of deprivation in Scotland.

Lower Whitecraigs in East Renfrewshire is classed as the least deprived.

Statisticians rate almost 7,000 areas in Scotland on various factors, including income, employability and health.
