A MOTOR-RACING star admits he is “absolutely devastated” after his racing bike was stolen from his home in North Berwick.

Fraser Flockhart’s prized bike was stolen from his garage last month, and he is now facing the prospect of having to start from scratch.

The 22-year-old, who races in the British Enduro Championship for Bikesport and is a Scottish champion, could miss the next round of the European Enduro Championships in Latvia next month.

He told the Courier: “I’m absolutely devastated.

“It is all I’ve worked so hard for and it’s all just been totally taken away from me.”

The former North Berwick High School pupil is a two-time Scottish Enduro champion, but now admits he is unsure if he will have a future in the sport.

Fraser added: “It’s a massive setback at this point in the season.

“I’m due to go to Latvia in just a few weeks but everything was stolen – my bike, tools and all the spares – so I don’t have anything.”

He thanked his sponsors, who are in the process of helping the star, find a way to continue his racing career.

He added: “Everyone has been really great and it’s good to know I’ve got that support – that’s really heartwarming.”

Fraser is also due to compete at the International Six-Day Enduro in Spain in October.

He said: “It’s the World Cup of the sport and I’m due out there to represent Scotland.”

He is also appealing for anyone who can help his return to action to contact him via email at fraserflockhart@hotmail.co.uk The theft of the bike and other equipment, worth a total of £11,000, was highlighted as part of a police report read out at a recent meeting of North Berwick Community Council.

The group expressed its concerns over the theft, while police confirmed to the Courier earlier this week that they were still investigating.

A police spokesman said: “I urge anyone who has been approached recently to buy second-hand motorbike equipment or who has seen the missing bike to contact police immediately.

“It is described as a KTM 350cc, orange in colour with the registration NJ65 UUH and with the chassis reference VBKEZA401GM257140.

“Various other items were also stolen, including a white helmet, full titanium exhaust and a set of white power forks.

“Those with information in relation to this theft can contact police on 101. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
