MUSSELBURGH Racecourse is winning in the kitchen as well as the on the track after picking up a prestigious award.
The county course was selected as the UK’s Best Fast Food Mobile Experience and was awarded a commendation for Best Casual Dining for its bistro restaurant, located between the grandstand, at the National Racecourse Catering Awards. Musselburgh was recognised for the quality of its mobile food operation, provided by the Well Hung & Tender Burger Company.
Craig Bonner, Musselburgh Racecourse catering manager, said: “We were delighted to be in amongst the winners at our first attempt and it gives us encouragement to continuing looking to improve how we do things at Musselburgh.
“Wherever possible we try to source local suppliers and local ingredients and the Well Hung & Tender team fit that category and have done an excellent job since being appointed as mobile caterers.
“It was great that our Bistro was recognised for the high quality food produced each race day and that is backed up by the visitor numbers which show how popular the place is before and during racing.”
