A NEW monthly cafe is being launched at the John Gray Centre in Haddington for those who care with people with dementia.
Good Memories Cafe gets under way with an afternoon of cake, hot drinks and chat.
The event, from 2pm to 4pm, shows what the John Gray Centre can offer in terms of support, while suggestions can also be made in terms of information about dementia.
A spokeswoman said: “In our collections we have photos, postcards and objects from East Lothian’s past (even near-past), as well as replica costumes you can dress up in – they always stimulate memories and happy discussions. We’ll be on hand on Friday to show you some of these delights, and give guided tours of the museum. Do drop in to get a taste of what we have on offer!” In addition, there are other things on offer, including the storytelling of Tim Porteus – who writes his weekly ‘Tim’s Tales column for the Courier – and the chance to play board games and visit the museum.
