THE lads from Sea Girls can’t wait to hit the road and travel north of the border during their first UK-wide headline tour.

The London-based band have never performed in Scotland before and have heard that a warm welcome waits for them in Glasgow.

Henry Camamile (vocals/guitar) told the Evening Times that fans should prepare for a prime performance at King Tut’s next month.

He said: “We get really into our live shows. We want every one of them to be special. We don’t play enough live.

“Live is incredibly exciting. It’s what you do when you’re finished with a song – there’s nothing better.

“We’ve heard Glasgow is great, so we’re looking forward to a good Glasgow crowd.”

East Lothian Courier:

Henry first met fellow bandmates Rory Young (guitar), Andrew Noswad (bass) and Oli Khan (drums) at school.

Henry and Rory originally hail from Lincoln whilst Oli, born in Hong Kong, grew up in Leicestershire. Andrew grew up in Kent as a child via stints in Indonesia and Sri Lanka, before settling in Leicestershire also.

After playing in rival bands, the boys came together to form Sea Girls in 2015.

Henry noted: “We thought ‘let’s do this’.”

The band write their own material and love going into the studio to experiment with their indie-disco sound.

Henry said: "We all really enjoy recording and getting to that final finished mix.”

Following a series of live dates across the country last year and the release of a string of explosive singles alongside sophomore EP Heavenly War, the band have been tapped by Radio 1’s Huw Stephens as ‘ones to watch’ in 2018.

Henry hopes the band will go from strength to strength over the next 12 months.

He added: “This is our first headline tour and we’re very excited. This will be the first time we’re playing in most of these cities.

“Over the next year we’re planning on doing more of that, writing loads more music and recording an album. We want to get even more music out there.”

Sea Girls will be performing at King Tut’s on Saturday, February 10. For more information, go to seagirls.net or like facebook.com/sonicseagirls
