THREE county-born rugby aces will be in international sevens action in Europe this weekend.

Former North Berwick High School pupil Liz Musgrove is in the Scotland Women 7s squad for the Amsterdam 7s at the weekend

Musgrove won her first Scotland 7s caps 12 months ago as the Scots won promotion to the Rugby Europe Grand Prix series with unbeaten performances in Czech Republic and Hungary in last season’s Rugby Europe Trophy.

And she returns to the abbreviated format having won her first 15s caps in the Six Nations earlier this year.

Head coach Scott Forrest said:“This event marks a vital part of our preparation for the start of the Rugby Europe Grand Prix later this month.

“We have an exciting squad with a good mix of experience and young players and have started to build momentum over the last month within our training camps, with the camp last weekend being the best so far.

“Amsterdam is the next opportunity to challenge ourselves in a competitive environment.”

Meanwhile, Harvey Elms and Ally Miller have retained their places in the Scotland 7s squad for the final leg of the HSBC World Series in Paris.

Head coach John Dalziel has made one change to the squad that struggled in London last weekend, bringing in Charlie Shiel for the injured Gavin Lowe.

Scotland have been drawn against South Africa, Canada and Russia on day one in Paris.

Dalziel said: “We are looking at being more consistent in our delivery and just getting our basics right. Doing the simple things to the standard we expect.

“The weekend can’t come quick enough and the players are desperate to get back out there and express themselves in the way we know they can."
