NORTH Berwick rugby star Chris Dean has shaken off a head knock to retain his place in the Edinburgh Rugby side for their Guinness Pro14 match with Benetton Rugby tomorrow (Friday).

Dean was forced off at half-time of last Friday evening's 35-18 win over Dragons at Myreside.

The 23-year-old has, though, been passed fit to play and will once more line up at outside centre alongside summer signing Robbie Freuan.

Scotland wing Damien Hoyland makes his 50th appearance for the club, and Dean could be next in line to reach that milestone  - he and Blair Kinghgorn will make their 45th appearances for the club against the Italians.

Head coach Richard Cockerill said: “We need to make sure that we are accurate and physical, and that we treat them with the respect they are due.

“It’s another important game for us that we’re desperate to win.”
