Dunbar 45 Forrester 28

SIX tries, including a pair from veteran Jamie Peters, saw Dunbar thrash Forrester at Hallhill to move to the summit of East Region Division 1.

Peters grabbed his first of the day within five minutes, as he burst through some weak tackling to score after good work by the forwards.

Ross Charlton added the extras to give Dunbar an early 7-0 lead, before a pair of penalties reduced the gap to a point.

Mark Coull's Dunbar side were dominant up front, and were rewarded with their second try as Greig Patrizio crashed over after a prolonged period of pressure.

Charlton added the extras to widen the gap to eight points.

With half time approaching the visitors scored a try out wide, as flanker Ryan King burrowed over.

The try was converted, before Charlton, who ended with a 15-point haul, kicked a penalty to make it 17-13 at the break.

Five minutes into the second half, the hosts secured a try bonus point as Ewan Patrizio stormed through the Forrester defence to touch down.

Chris Bryce added another within a minute to give Coull's side some breathing space, and Charlton converted both scores to make it 31-13.

A pair of Forrester tries narrowed the gap, and they enjoyed more possession as the half wore on.

Dunbar wing John Peebles intercepted from inside his own half, and ran the length to score under the posts, allowing Charlton an easy conversion to give Dunbar a 15-point cushion.

The hosts then had skipper Blair Mills sent to the sin-bin, and Forrester took advantage as lock Garry Smith went over.

Veteran centre Peters then scored his second try to wrap up victory, as they move to the top of the table.

Coull's men will now travel to the Borders, as they take on Hawick Harlequins, who will be aiming to avenge defeat to North Berwick, on Saturday.
