A PAIR of county motorbike stars were crowned Knockhill Motor Sports Club champions at the weekend.

Haddington ace Paul McClung produced another superb performance to claim a race win in the Supertwins, and that secured him the championship title.

McClung was thrilled to have won the title, and achieved a perfect season, having won every race.

He told Courier Sport: "It all went to plan – I got pole position in qualifying, and then went on to win all five races.

"I also broke the lap record in three of the races.

"We set out to win the Scottish [Championship] this year, and we have done that, we won every race too, achieving maximum points.

"I'm looking forward to getting back out at Donnington Park in three weeks for Thundersport GB."

Meanwhile, Gifford teenager Lewis Rollo was victorious in the Superstock 600 class.

Lewis was delighted with the success, and hailed a "mega" weekend after winning four of his five races.

He added: "I would like to say a huge thanks to all my sponsors and everyone who has made this season possible, but also to everyone who got me out on track at the weekend and for all the support."

There were congratulations, too, from the organisers, who said: "What a great end to a fantastic season! Huge congrats to our 2016 Champions, Rishon Hickey, Ashley Robson, Paul McClung, Lewis Shand, Rod Scott, Lewis Rollo and Bruce Birnie.

"Roll on 2017."
