Belters bag two at Livingston

Tranent went into last Saturday"s game against bottom club Livingston United seeking to confirm second spot and fend off Sauchie Juniors" challenge for the role of runners-up.

Livingston provided dogged resistance for much of the game but Tranent did enough to secure all three points.

Top scorer Mel Graham opened the scoring with the only goal of the first half, taking his tally to 22 for the season.

After the break James McPartlin doubled the visitors" advantage before United grabbed a consolation with 10 minutes or so remaining.

Tranent are scheduled tomorrow (Saturday) to travel to face a Stoneyburn Juniors side seemingly in turmoil after the sacking of boss Andy Johnstone and a 7-2 home defeat last Saturday by West Calder United amid rumours of a players" revolt.
