Each of East Lothian"s four Junior football clubs edged closer to the season"s end with two fixtures last week.

Musselburgh Athletic, having sealed promotion to the Superleague the previous week, knocked Bathgate Thistle out of the St Michael"s Cup by the narrowest of margins, but were shocked at Olive Bank when Thornton Hibs dumped them out of the Fife & Lothians Cup.

Tranent Juniors lost out to Penicuik Athletic in their St Michael"s Cup tie but recovered to move back into second spot in the South Division table when they beat Broxburn Athletic.

At the other end of the table, Haddington Athletic came out on top in their midweek derby with Dunbar United, but on Saturday they exited the St Michael"s Cup when Blackburn United won at Millfield. Dunbar were well beaten at Harthill Royal on league duty.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Musselburgh host Glenrothes Juniors to contest a place in the East Of Scotland Cup semi finals. In the South Division, Tranent meet West Calder United at home, and Dunbar travel to face Livingston United. Haddington have no fixture.
