A COUNTY football ace will be part of the Team GB Paralympics squad, despite a recent injury.
David Porcher, who plays for Preston Athletic was named in the Paralympic seven-a-side football squad recently ahead of the Rio Games.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who has cerebral palsy, picked up a knock in pre-season action for the Panners at the end of last month.
He was quick to confirm he'll still be taking part in events in Brazil.
Porcher told Courier Sport: "It wasn't anything serious, thankfully.
"It was just a bad dead leg, but it's a lot better now, and I'll be good for the Games."
He is one of three county stars preparing for the Paralympics, alongside Wallyford para-powerlifter Micky Yule, and Dunbar teenager Maria Lyle.
The Paralympic Games run between September 7-18, and will be broadcast on Channel 4.
