TRANENT Juniors' star signing Kevin Thomson missed out on the chance to make his first appearance for the club at the weekend.
The former Scotland international was expected to sit out the club's Swan Cup opener at Foresters Cup on Saturday afternoon, as they beat Preston Athletic 5-2.
According to club officials, his first Tranent Juniors outing was likely to come the following day, but he was once more missing as they lifted the trophy, beating Berwick Rangers' development team on Sunday.
Veteran midfielder Darren Smith, the club captain lifted the trophy, but the Foresters Park faithful will need to wait to see Thomson in their clubs colours.
His first appearance could come tomorrow (Saturday) as the South Division champions welcome Scottish Junior Cup winners Beith Juniors.
Thomson may then face some of his former team-mates as a Hibernian XI visit Foresters Park next Saturday (July 30).
