COUNTY football ace Blair Glynn has been named in the Scotland CP squad for upcoming World Championship qualifiers.

Glynn, of Tranent, is part of the 14-man squad for the qualifiers in Denmark later this month, as the Scottish side attempt to qualify for the finals in Argentina next year.

The 29-year-old, a Paralympian at the London Games four years ago, missed out on the Team GB squad for the Rio Games this summer, a decision he admitted was "very hard to take".

He immediately turned his attentions to earning selection for the Scotland side, and has done enough to impress coach David McArdle.

Glynn tweeted: "I have made the team for Denmark – delighted!

"There's still more training to do and time to get better! Thanks to everyone who has helped."

And the 29-year-old told Courier Sport: "The hard work isn't over yet still got to train hard and make sure I am in the management plans for the team."

The county ace will now prepare for the trip to Denmark, where Scotland take on Spain and Australia in a bid to earn qualification for the finals.

Preston Athletic midfielder David Porcher, who is in the Team GB squad, is not involved with the Scotland side this time round, however fellow Team GB players Martin Hickman and Jonathan Paterson, are included.
