LOGAN Kennedy capped a remarkable season as he claimed the under-18 and under-25 single titles at East Lothian Indoor Bowling Club.

But he wasn’t finished with just the singles and also added the gents’ triples alongside his dad Scott Kennedy and Billy Mellors.

Dee Hoggan claimed her seventh club championship as she overcame Beth Riva in the ladies’ championship.

But Riva overcame that blow to take home both ladies’ pairs titles with Emma Blyth, after claiming the mixed triples crown alongside brother Dean and Aaron Betts (Lewis Betts a substitute for an injured Dean in the final).

Blyth won the ladies’ junior singles as she saw off the challenge of new club member Amy Borthwick to cap her season off alongside both ladies pairs’ titles.

Janet Fairnie and Yvonne Veitch were once again opponents in the ladies’ senior final, Fairnie narrowly pipping her close friend to the title for the second year running in a close match.

Willie Wood had the crowd on the edge of their seats in his marathon battle with Craig McCall. The East Lothian legend held a healthy lead throughout the match before surviving a late comeback and held out to win the senior singles title 21-20. That capped a winning season for Wood as he also claimed the senior pairs title with Lessel Middler once again.

The remaining competitions are played to a finish this week, bringing a close to the indoor calendar for 2024.

Focus now turns to the 2024 outdoor season, with expectations high as clubs return to the greens in a highly competitive and fixture-congested season for East Lothian outdoor bowlers.
